The 23rd annual Robert
N. and Peggy Sears Dixie
Invitational Art Show
and Sale, recognized as
one of the biggest art
events in the state of
Utah, is currently on
exhibit at the Dolores
Dore´ Eccles Fine Arts
Center?s Sears Art
Museum Gallery on the
campus of Dixie State
College of Utah. The
Sears Dixie
Invitational, which has
been a mainstay at Dixie
State College, features
a record 270 works from
nearly 160 renowned
artists from Utah and
from around the country.
The exhibit will be on
display now through
Sunday, March 28, from
10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.,
Mondays through
Saturdays, and 2:00 p.m.
to 6:00 p.m. on Sundays.

NASCAR: pit crews,
speedsters and
adrenaline--junkies
around the world are
preparing for SkyWest
Airlines' tenth annual
Mini Indy, sponsored by
the City of St. George
and Dixie State College.
On Saturday, March 13,
nearly 30 go-cart teams
will battle it out on
the raceway at Dixie
State College's
Encampment Mall. From
the greens to the race
track, sponsors compete
for a cause--and have
contributed nearly $1
million to local
charities in Mini Indy's
ten-year history

Art Around the
Corner Brings
World-Renowned
Sculptures to Historic
Downtown St. George

the Corner will see to
that. Art Around the
Corner, a not-for-profit
outdoor arts project
featuring sculptures by
nationally renowned
artists, will unveil its
2010 collection in
historic downtown St.
George on Saturday,
March 20. Some of
this years returning
artists include the
legendary Grant Speed
and local favorites
L'Deane Trueblood, Matt
Clark, and Annette

The Perfect Volunteer
Experience: Ford Ironman St.
George, May 1, 2010 
Blast into a new era for St.
George: The Ironman Era! In just
five short months, on May 1,
2010, Washington County will
host the Ford Ironman St. George
triathlon. Twenty-five hundred
athletes from 48 states and 27
countries are registered for the
St. George race and with them
will come an entourage of
family, friends, media reps, and
race personnel. Although the
World Triathlon Corporation will
bring in a well-seasoned staff
to direct the Ironman and all
activities associated with it,
an event of this magnitude
requires a large volunteer base
in order to ensure a safe,
successful experience for
athletes and the community.
4,500 volunteers are needed to
staff 46 different Ironman areas
ranging from banquet assistance

The Parade of Homes is held in mid February every year. Over
30,000
people come to view
this spectacular showcase of homes which offer
the latest in design.
These homes vary in size and price and offer a wealth of ideas for building
and

Invitational Art Show

Festival - Easter Weekend

Annually held around the first week in August at the
state-of-the-art Washington County Fair Park
in Hurricane. This
family fun event features carnival rides, games, festive food,
entertainment,
award-winning crops and livestock exhibits.
Enterprise Corn Festival
The Enterprise area is noted for its productive farms and gardens.
Excellent corn is grown both
commercially and privately in this
area, and the people take pride in their crop. When it's time
to harvest,
they celebrate at the end of August in the town square
with a weekend selling fresh,
succulent corn on the cob, playing games selling
crafts, exhibiting quilts and plain old fashioned fun.
SEPTEMBER
Dixie Lions Round-up - Mid September
Join the Lions Club for the annual rodeo celebration at the Sun Bowl
in St George. Approved by the
Professional Rodeo Cowboy's
Association, this wild weekend extravaganza is held the second
weekend in September. Great entertainment for all.
Santa Clara Swiss Days
On the last Friday and Saturday in September, the small town of
Santa Clara celebrates its
Swiss heritage - based on early pioneers
that settled the town in 1861. The event offers an array
of events
including historical displays, a fun run, craft and food booths, and
much more.

St George Marathon

Neary 5,000 runners come from all
over the world to participate in the 13th largest marathon in the
US.
It begins in the majestic Pine Valley Mountains and
descends nearly 1,600 feet through scenic sandstone
cliffs and
ancient lava flows to the center of St George City.
Runner's World lists it as one of the
"10 Most Scenic and
Fastest Marathons."

Jubilee of Trees

Christmas Festival in the Dixie

Tuachan’s Festival
of Lights & Live Nativity Production
Thanksgiving thru January 1st
Thousands of twinkling lights
greet you as you approach the parking lot of the Tuachan
Amphitheater.
This annual event takes place every evening
except Sunday from
Thanksgiving until New Year’s Day
at the
Tuachan Center for the Arts in Ivins. The show features a
touching, live nativity scene and re-enactment
of the birth of
Jesus. The scene and the show definitely inspires you in the
